Until recently, Nordstrom has been known more for its designer shoe section than for accessories such as handbags and purses.  But, the company has been expanding, adding high end accessories and clothing as well as designer collections – and Louis Vuitton has jumped in through this new window.

The arrangement seems to be beneficial for both companies.  It gives Louis Vuitton access to a new market, selling to individuals who made not be interested in their designer boutiques.  It also diversifies Nordstrom’s selection, helping to set the chain apart from other stores in these tough economic times.
